Turning Two with Friends

We had a few friends over to play this morning and celebrate James turning two on his actual birthday, December 10th. James's Mimi came over to bring most of the snacks and help me out. It was great for her to be here because she could take care of Luke while I did stuff with James. Not to mention, she set up and cleaned up almost everything! James helped her decorate the veggie tree.

I made Rice Krispy shaped Christmas trees for the kids to decorate. James really liked it. He has great fine motor skills. He also ate several icing covered M&Ms :)

This is his face when you ask him to say cheese...

Friends...

And then it was cupcake time! James wanted to get a little too close to the fire here...

He loved all of us singing to him...

He clapped for us when we were done. He always claps when a song is over.

Then he blew out the candles...

And attacked the cupcake...

He ate almost the whole thing. Very different from last year when he didn't want to touch the cake!

His Gigi Kathryn came by to see him and give him a dump truck for his birthday!

James loves his friends! He's quite the extrovert. When he's around people, he gets so so excited. He's never shy at all. Sometimes I know he overwhelms some of his friends. If he really likes someone, he tries to hug and tackle them. This is embarrassing at times, but most of the time he attacks boys who are bigger than him and they take it well. Thanks to all his friends who came over today - they made his birthday very special!
