Christmas 2017 Recap

Christmas this year was so much fun!  I love how the kids get excited about everything.  They love the decorations all over town.  We went out and looked at Christmas lights several times, we went to Tanglewood twice, we made Christmas ornaments, we played with the nativity, we counted down the days on two different calendars to the big day, and we got to spend some sweet time with family.  And of course they had some Christmas pajamas...
We went to Tanglewood two times this year - they all loved it.  We let all the kids get out of their car seats and we got them milkshakes to drink while they looked at the lights - these are two things that never happen in our house!  But I think it's a fun tradition.  We did it last year as well.
James loved doing a gingerbread house too...
We went on a hayride to a live nativity and the boys didn't seem too impressed at the time.  Right when it was silent and almost done, James said "When is this going to be over."  Everyone laughed but of course I was embarrassed!  Thankfully, the kids talked about it later and continued to ask questions, so I think it was worthwhile.
We listened to lots of Christmas music and James requested it.  Occasionally Luke would scream that he didn't want to listen to Christmas music (apparently he gets that from his dad) and that made me sad.  They both learned how to sing Jingle Bells and sang it a lot.

None of the kids have any concept of asking for something they'd like for Christmas - so thankfully I got to pick their gifts.  We got James and Luke magnetic tiles to share and logs to build houses / forts.  We got Anna some baby doll things.  Their grandparents and aunts and uncles spoiled them too!
Evan, Kaitlyn, and Ethan came to visit for a few days and that was so special!  We did the traditional Bower pepperoni rolls and Westover service on Christmas Eve and then we had a brunch at my house on Christmas Day.  It was so nice to have everyone together!
We let James skip his nap on Christmas Eve... but he and Pop both needed a rest...
Christmas this year was so fun. I'm excited for Christmas in future years as our family grows, the kids learn more about the true meaning of Christmas, and seeing all the joy in their eyes.
