4 Months!

Spring is here and James is 4 months old!  He keeps growing so fast!  Here's what's new this month:

He weighs 16 1/2 pounds and is 25 1/4 inches long.  He's growing so much!

James is grabbing all of his small toys.  He can grab soft toys, hard toys, or basically anything you put near his hands.  He holds on to them for a little while and then lets go.  We are picking up things when he drops them all the time.

He still loves being in his Jumperoo.  Even though he can't really jump yet (because his toes barely touch the ground), he still loves hanging in there and touching the objects on the outside of the Jumperoo.

We love the Bumbo!  James likes to sit up and play with toys in it.  He will also watch us cook in the kitchen while chillin' in the Bumbo.

He is taking 3 naps a day.  We wish that they were long naps, but he almost always wakes up after 25-40 minutes when napping on his own.  This gets old.  I think he may be chronically tired during the day.  We're working on it.  The only time he takes a long nap is when I'm napping with him (which I don't mind most afternoons).

He is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and some 12 month clothes.  Kiddo is a chunky monkey!  

He is loud.  When he's happy he's loud and when he's mad he's unbelievably loud.    

He loves to try to sit up when we support him.  He also enjoys doing "sit ups" (when he is on his back and we pull him up to a sitting position).   

I wish he were rolling over, but he hates tummy time.  I think that he will be stationary for awhile longer.  This is fine with me though because I know that life will get much more difficult once he's on the move.

He hasn't quite figured out how to jump in the doorway jumper.  He just hangs there and likes for us to swing him -

He blows bubbles a lot.  Drool is always coming out of his mouth and his shirt is usually wet -

He was so knocked out after this nap that he didn't even wake up when we took the swaddle off (Note: this is rare).

James, I love you so much!  I could post 100 pictures of your cuteness and it still wouldn't satisfy me enough.  With your chubby cheeks and serious face, I don't know what to do other than squeeze and hug you all day long :)
