Snowy Day

It snowed around 8 inches in the last 24 hours - that's a big deal!  When Ray woke up to go to work this morning, it had snowed about 6 inches, and then it continued snowing even more today.  Ray woke up around 6am to shovel the driveway so he could get out and go to work.  He worked until lunchtime and then came home for the rest of the snow day to hang out with me and James.  James was happy to have his daddy home!
We needed some eggs (and an excuse for me and James to get out of the house), so we ran out to the grocery store.  Apparently everyone went to the store to get eggs because there were only a few dozen left and they were all organic and cost $4 for a dozen.  But we bought them... because when you go out in a blizzard to get eggs, you just don't want to come home empty handed.
The main roads were not too bad and since we live about .1 mile from a main road, we made it to the store and back just fine.  But most people were inside today.  A few people were walking around town, and a few more were driving, but it was pretty slow other than that.
After we all took a long afternoon nap, we got James dressed and ready to go outside and enjoy his first big snow-
Our makeshift sled-
He didn't really know what to think at first.  I'm pretty sure he wasn't thrilled-
He gave his daddy a workout!
A look at the house after the snow finished falling.  And check out our nice driveway, thanks to Ray!
We ended with a stroll in the neighborhood-
And now that we've had sufficient snow day adventures, please, bring on the spring!
