On Friday, the 13th, Ray and I found out that our baby is a BOY! We are both so excited! The night before our appointment, I was like a kid on Christmas eve - I could hardly sleep! I had dreams all night long... I just couldn't wait to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl. When we went for the appointment, I was 19 weeks and 2 days, so I've been wanting to know for awhile now. Here are some pictures from the appointment. I am not posting pictures of the evidence that he's a boy because I don't want to embarrass him later, but here are some profile shots:
My family has been wanting to know for awhile now too if it's a boy or a girl, so we decided to combine Ray's birthday party with the gender reveal. I decided to bake a cake and add blue food coloring to do the reveal.

When my parents came over, my dad wanted to know immediately if it was a boy or a girl, but I told him that he had to wait to cut the cake. Since he is incredibly impatient, I had to escort him out of the kitchen to make sure that he would not peek. Right before we were going to eat dinner, he ran to the kitchen and was getting ready to dive into the cake (just like a kid!). So I decided that I would let the grandparents, both Ray's parents and my parents, cut the cake
before dinner. They cut the cake and it was so special. Everyone was there and when they saw the blue they all said "it's a boy!" I'm not going to lie... I almost cried... these pregnancy hormones are crazy!
I wish that I would have taken pictures of the whole group, but I'm a slacker and still getting used to taking my camera everywhere and remembering to use it. Some of our friends and most of our close family that lives in Greensboro was here to share the special moment with us.
I bought Baby Boy Bower an outfit for the party, but of course he was not able to wear it yet. I can't wait to get him in cute BOY clothes!
Congratulations!! Baby boys are so much fun! I love being the mother of a son! Girls may have the monopoly on clothes, but boy toys are great!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, I LOVE the boy clothes! I really hate pink and there is obviously so much pink with girls... so I even get the kind of clothes that I want! I am soooo looking forward to this!
